Job Summary

This is a challenging role that requires a strong leader to manage teams involved in the operations and maintenance of the gas transmission and distribution system. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements, aligning with company values, and providing timely completion of gas maintenance, gas construction, transmission & regulatory work, and gas damage control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Manage a team of gas craft employees, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements and alignment with company values.
  • Customer Service: Serve customers by providing timely completion of gas maintenance, gas construction, transmission & regulatory work, and gas damage control, ensuring that work is executed safely.
  • Emergency Response: Manage emergency responses to all requests, including equipment maintenance, ensuring employees respond in a timely manner and provide total quality service.
  • Compliance and Quality: Monitor compliance to standards and specifications, to achieve high-quality work the first time done. Develop action plans to address deficiencies in process or employee skill/knowledge and track the progress of those plans.
  • Productivity and Cost Management: Identify and pursue productivity improvements and implement work practices to reduce operating costs while meeting corporate and regulatory compliance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete and maintain all work documentation and/or reporting.
  • Communication and Leadership: Communicate business goals and objectives to the work group and hold all accountable to the same. Develop the business knowledge and technical skills of all field employees. Foster teamwork within the work group and across all company functions.
  • Safety and Compliance: Fully implement and hold subordinates accountable for safety best practices and adherence to the safety accountability model. Ensure full compliance with the Injury & Illness Prevention Program, working closely with area Safety Program Coordinators.
  • Project and Contract Management: Oversees both projects and 2nd-party contracting within the area of responsibility.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure mandated compliance dates and regulations are met.
  • Leak Investigation and Management: Review leak investigation documents and leak survey maps for accuracy and completeness. Ensure compliance of leak grading and L&M & Leak Survey tools and equipment as required by the CPUC.
  • Root-Cause Investigations: Lead root-cause investigations on all PG&E at-fault dig-ins and/or reportable events.
  • Operator Qualification Program: Monitor the Gas Operator Qualification (OQ) Program and ensure compliance. Maintain craft qualification records for employees, such as welding and plastic fusion as required by CPUC.
  • Paperwork and Documentation: Ensure all associated paperwork and work packages are accurate.
  • Department Maintenance: Review all department maintenance documents for accuracy and completeness prior to filing for future reference or for audit purposes.
