The Financial Operations Manager reports directly to the CFO

Key Expectations:

Main Duties:
- Guide the organization's financial operations
- Engage in the formulation of the organization's strategic plans and initiatives
- Assess and provide insights on the implications of long-term planning, new program introductions, and regulatory compliance
- Supply historical financial data regarding profitability across various markets and business sectors, along with reports requested by management
- Oversee a robust financial reporting system that delivers timely operational and financial reports and analyses to stakeholders, interpreting results for all management levels
- Develop and manage invoicing systems and processes to ensure prompt and precise billing, focusing on accounts receivable aging; oversee a reliable cash control process and reporting system, including monitoring credit and collections for all operational entities
- Assist in the creation and dissemination of financial information to capital providers, suppliers, and clients
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors during annual audits and assess outcomes
- Enhance relationships with financial institutions and implement strategies to improve cash position and minimize borrowing costs
- Directly manage the company's cash disbursement cycle to guarantee efficient, accurate, and timely payment of legitimate business expenses and contractual obligations
- Maintain an accurate record-keeping system that reflects the status and value of the company's assets, coordinating with risk management to ensure adequate insurance coverage
- Evaluate the structures of financial and information services, planning for ongoing enhancements in efficiency and effectiveness while providing professional development opportunities
- Offer financial training and support to team members responsible for financial performance
- Ensure all departmental functions are clearly defined, documented, and communicated for efficient and timely task execution, including succession planning
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports and recommend salary adjustments
- Establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective problem solver, being approachable and serving as a mentor on financial matters
- Enhance and/or develop financial policies and procedures that impact other departments, documenting processes to ensure accuracy and operational effectiveness
- Advise the organization on cost reimbursement strategies
- Conduct due diligence for acquisition assessments
- Recommend actions to enhance the organization's profitability, efficiency, and effectiveness
- Interface with financial institutions and management
- Perform additional tasks as requested by the CFO and management
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field, with a preference for accounting.
- MBA degree is advantageous.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience leading the financial and technology departments of a small to medium-sized enterprise.
Skills and Certifications:
- Must possess a valid state driver's license if required to operate company equipment
- Meet and maintain all criteria outlined in the Conditions of Employment policy
- CPA certification is a plus
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to hear work or safety instructions communicated verbally in a normal speaking voice
- Must be capable of working independently
- Ability to communicate via telephone for extended periods
- Ability to frequently view and manipulate data on a standard computer
- Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Able to sit for extended periods, up to 6 hours
