Job Title: Financial Project Accountant

At Equus Workforce Solutions, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Project Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for managing project financials, ensuring compliance with local, state, and corporate policies, and providing financial guidance to our project teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project financials, including tracking, analyzing, and reporting financial status
  • Oversee local accounting staff and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Direct fiscal operations related to financial planning, funds management, accounting, reporting, and disbursement
  • Prepare and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flows across multiple funding streams
  • Manage accounts payable and client services payments
  • Supervise financial/accounting staff and provide guidance on financial management policies and procedures
  • Prepare financial performance reviews and maintain project financial data
  • Maintain customer relationships and assist with training of newly hired project accountants
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business, accounting, finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with automated accounting systems, payroll, budgeting, accounts receivable, and multi-fund or cost accounting
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work across all levels of management and staff
