Job Overview

PEM USA (Plastics Extrusion Machinery) is seeking to enhance our workforce by hiring skilled CNC Machinists for both Mill and Lathe operations.

Position Details:

The Mill positions are available for 1st and 3rd shifts, while the Lathe position is designated for 3rd shift only.

CNC Machinist – Mill

Join our team in a climate-controlled environment where we prioritize employee satisfaction and career growth. As a CNC Mill Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up CNC mills in accordance with detailed blueprints, selecting the right fixtures, cutting tools, and materials. After producing components using the CNC Mill, you will utilize precision measuring instruments to verify compliance with specifications, making necessary adjustments as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Convert detailed part drawings into precise measurements for production.
  • Adhere to company protocols for machine operations.
  • Understand and follow instructions accurately.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and parts lists effectively.
  • Perform machine setups.
  • Programming capabilities are advantageous.
  • Accurately interpret measurements.

Utilize shop tools (such as drill presses and band saws) and precision measuring instruments (including micrometers and calipers) while applying appropriate speeds and feeds.

  • Confirm specifications.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Document inventory changes as necessary.
  • Work safely and responsibly.
  • Accurately log time spent on tasks and projects.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Comply with all safety regulations.
  • Set up CNC Mill according to technical specifications.
  • Adjust program speeds as needed.
  • Consistently adhere to work schedules, ensuring reliability.
  • Meet production targets.

CNC Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with production machinery.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of machine maintenance and operation is essential.
  • Strong foundational math skills, including shop math.
  • Trigonometry knowledge is beneficial.
  • Proven experience with gauges and calipers.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License or Forklift Operator's License.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform tasks such as balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.

Proficiencies Required:

  • G-Code programming.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Familiarity with CAD and CAD/CAM software.
  • Driver's License.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Machine setups for production runs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in plastic extrusion.
  • Troubleshooting skills for CNC machines.
  • Equipment troubleshooting abilities.

  • CNC Lathe (2-4 axis and 5+ axis).
