Go McPherson is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker/CNC Machinist to support our Machine Shop's mission of producing precision tooling that drives our manufacturing operations. This role will involve setting up and operating computer-controlled and mechanically-controlled machine tools to produce high-quality metal parts, instruments, and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate technical information from blueprints, sketches, specifications, and CAD/CAM files into precision tools and dies.
  • Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of workpieces to ensure accuracy.
  • Set up, operate, and conversationally program conventional, manual, and computer-numeric controlled (CNC) machines and equipment.
  • File, grind, and adjust parts to ensure proper fit and finish.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed tools and dies to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Smooth and polish the surfaces of tools and dies to achieve high-quality finishes.
  • Collaborate with various departments and outside vendors to achieve common goals.
  • Prepare raw materials and tools prior to machining, cutting, or deburring.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in programming and operation of CNC equipment, including 5-axis machining.
  • Ability to fixture and design methods of manufacturing complex parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD/CAM drawings.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize to manage multiple projects/assignments.
  • Ability to work independently and make competent decisions.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate understanding and problem-solving with cross-functional teams and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • High-School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field.
