Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide administrative and clinical support to our patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
  • Answer and direct calls
  • Process pre-authorizations and pre-certifications
  • Prepare and file medical records
  • Provide cross-coverage for other administrative roles
  • Maintain clinical files according to organization/department protocol
  • Process patient-related correspondence
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information

Clinical Support:

  • Ensure efficient patient flow
  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for patient examinations
  • Provide procedural support following department-specific guidelines
  • Perform initial intake of patient, including interviews, vital signs, and allergy information
  • Accurately record and update patient information
  • Perform daily Quality Controls for Point of Care testing
  • Obtain specimens and perform patient testing
  • Track and retrieve patient lab/diagnostic testing results
  • Perform administrative functions for patient prescription renewal
