Job Role:

We are currently looking for an Electric Motor Winder/Motor Rewind Apprentice in the Little Rock area. This role involves rewinding various types of electric motors, pumps, and electro-mechanical devices, including but not limited to: random wound & form wound three-phase AC motors, DC fields, armatures, wound rotors, transformers, and alternators. The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively, upholding a strong company image through professionalism and a solid work ethic.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: High School Diploma or GED required; licensing or certification preferred.
  2. Driver's License: A valid driver's license is mandatory.

Experience:

Mechanical aptitude or prior mechanical experience is required. Experience in winding, servicing, and repairing industrial electric motors is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to inspect and test various electric motor windings for damage and electrical compliance.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing electric motor windings.
  • Capable of documenting winding characteristics and connections accurately.
  • Understanding of electrical circuits.
  • Experience operating specialized repair and testing equipment, including winding machines, test panels, and various hand tools.
  • Effective communication skills to interact clearly with team members and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Arrive for work on time as scheduled.
  2. Inspect and test electric motor windings.
  3. Identify winding materials and document relevant electrical design information.
  4. Prepare components and tools for rewinding and inspecting electrical windings as per specifications.
  5. Rewind various electric motors and pumps while adhering to proper insulating techniques.
  6. Test rewound components and document results according to specifications.
  7. Operate specialized repair and testing equipment safely and effectively.
