Job Overview
The Apprentice Mechanic is responsible for assisting in the repair and upkeep of tractors, trailers, and various motor vehicles under the guidance of an experienced mechanic.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting basic diagnostics and troubleshooting tasks.
- Performing routine maintenance, including brake pad replacements, oil changes, and battery testing, as well as replacing worn components.
- Utilizing power tools and equipment for the repair or replacement of damaged parts.
- Requesting necessary parts as needed.
- Learning from senior mechanics to enhance industry knowledge and technical skills.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the workshop, including customer areas, and organizing inventory.
- Executing scheduled servicing and maintenance tasks.
- Updating and maintaining vehicle service records.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic mechanical tools are required.
- Ability to provide efficient and quality service.
- Willingness to learn and enhance operational efficiency.
- Strong communication skills with colleagues, vendors, and suppliers.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Must be open to coaching and feedback.
- Capability to perform fundamental mechanical tasks.
