Job Title: LPN Educator

Polk County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate LPN Educator to join our team. As a key member of our school community, you will provide essential health services and support to students, teachers, and staff.

Job Summary:

The LPN Educator will work under the general supervision of school administrators to provide specialized health services, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with teachers to develop health-related curriculum. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with staffings and school committee assignments as required
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records and reports
  • Provide supervisory assistance for students receiving health-related services
  • Reinforce instruction on health services and activities for students and teachers
  • Prepare instructional materials and assist teachers in providing health-related curriculum
  • Provide classroom assistance for field trips, projects, and health-related needs
Requirements:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification
  • Strong interest in educating and working with young people
  • Ability to understand written and oral instructions, speak and write coherently, and work cooperatively with other school personnel and parents
  • Bilingual/biliterate preferred
Work Environment:

This role requires sitting and standing, walking, and moving about to coordinate work. Face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams are essential. The use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones, and computers, is also required.

Physical Environment:

This role requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Sitting for the majority of the day and the ability to lift, carry, move, and/or position objects frequently weighing up to 20 pounds, and infrequently weighing more than 20 pounds, with help as necessary.
