About the Position

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Auditor Trainee to join our team in the Bureau of Audits. As a Tax Auditor Trainee, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of professionals and gain valuable experience in conducting audits to determine compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in training to develop the necessary skills to conduct field audits of taxpayers
  • Work alongside experienced auditors in the office and at taxpayer locations to gather information, schedule audits, and examine financial records
  • Assist in the pre-audit and post-audit conferences to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 15 college credits in accounting, tax, or auditing
  • Equivalent combination of experience and training with 15 college credits in accounting, tax, or auditing
  • Ability to meet the PA residency requirement
  • Pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment
