About the RoleJob Summary: The CCEC Human Resources (HR) Assistant provides support with HR and CCEC processes. This role involves administrative support to the HR and CCEC function and department, including but not limited to record keeping, file maintenance, HR audits, and new hires processing.

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and a working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures. A valid driver's license and personal automobile insurance are also mandatory requirements for this position.

  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Conducts monthly CCEC audits for CCC recertification.
  • Assist in screening applications for CCEC vacancies.
  • Coordinate interviews and support CCEC Management in the selection process.
  • Extend employment offers to selected candidates.
  • Prepares packets for new hires, benefit enrollment, and terminations as assigned.
  • Conduct CCEC new hire orientations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Workers' Compensation matters, including reviewing and signing claim forms for CCEC staff.
  • Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of CCEC job descriptions.
  • Ensure compliance with CCEC policies and legal requirements.
  • Actively participate in relevant committees to support HR functions and organizational goals.
  • Provide guidance to CCEC staff including procedural questions, disciplinary actions, and grievance responses
  • Occasionally visit CCEC work sites such as Recycling buyback centers.
  • Attend recruitment events.
  • Perform related duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and nature of the position.
