Job Title: GIS Technician

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter data accurately and manage data sets
  • Generate maps and project deliverables
  • Understand and manipulate large, complex GIS data sets
  • Provide GIS software-related support to staff and clients
  • Assist with the setup and use of GIS software and GPS equipment
  • Collect field data accurately
Requirements:
  • Degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
  • Experience with Geoprocessing within the ArcGIS environment
  • Ability to work within a team atmosphere
  • Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of GIS as it relates to Local Government, Public Works, and Civil Engineering
  • Knowledge of developing automation within the ArcGIS environment using scripting languages such as Python
  • Ability to communicate and promote geospatial solutions amongst others
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D CAD software
  • Knowledge of mapping-grade GPS devices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents
