Senior Modeling Analyst

About the Role

The WorkSmart Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Modeling Analyst to join our team. As a Senior Modeling Analyst, you will be responsible for developing and implementing methodologies for predicting the behavior of erosive flows and their interactions with surfaces at supersonic and hypersonic velocities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop modeling strategies and methodologies for high-velocity erosion behavior prediction
  • Produce or integrate software to accomplish modeling tasks and generate a software tool to be used in predicting experimental results
  • Work with the testing engineering team to validate the modeling tool created using experimental results and other published work
  • Write technical documentation, such as technical reports, presentations, and proposals, to support modeling and testing activities on an as-needed basis

Requirements

  • Familiarity with commercially available CFD software
  • Ability to work in cross-functional engineering and science teams
  • Effective written and spoken communication skills
  • U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Applied Mathematics with a thesis or dissertation requiring significant flow prediction modeling/algorithm development effort
  • Strong background in both Numerical Mathematics and Computer Science (algorithms, data structures, meshing strategies) and a minimum of 5 years of modeling experience
