Senior Actuarial Analyst

At Calculated Hire, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Insurance department, you will be responsible for developing and supporting a robust reserving framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead advanced analytics projects from start to finish, including brainstorming, execution, and communication of results to Management and Senior Leadership.
  • Develop and maintain reserving models, including bootstrapping, stochastic simulation, and predictive tools.
  • Collaborate with the reserving team to ensure accurate and timely reserving processes.
  • Train, mentor, and develop entry-level actuarial analysts, overseeing project responsibilities and performance management.

Requirements:

  • ACAS or near ACAS preferred; 5 or more Casualty Actuarial Society exams required.
  • 4+ years of experience in actuarial roles, with exposure to advanced ratemaking and/or reserving a plus.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and adjust priorities as necessary.
  • High level of problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, economics, actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field.
  • Programming skills in SQL/SAS/R.
