Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers in the design and analysis of steel tubular pole structures.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies to improve the design and construction of steel tubular pole structures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that engineering initiatives are aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and partners to ensure that engineering activities are meeting their needs.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure that engineering activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, with emphasis on steel structures, from a university program that is ABET accredited.
  • 5+ years' of working knowledge and experience with national codes, such as, ASCE-48, -113, -7, and customer specific codes related to utility steel pole structures.
  • 5+ years' of progressive related work experience in the structural design of the electric utility transmission, substation, and distribution steel pole structures using PLS-POLE software.
  • Experience in AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
  • Minimum of five years' experience managing staff of at least two (2) direct reports.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Polished dynamic professional with superior verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with applicable laws/regulations and management theories.
  • Effective supervisory skills.
  • Multi-site responsibility is preferred.
  • Confidence and poise needed to effectively interface with corporate on a daily basis.
  • Possess the ability to deal effectively with all levels of personnel at the plant level.
  • MS Office Suite applications, to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability and experience to conduct design and analysis of steel tubular pole structures using PLS-Pole software.
  • Ability and experience to read customers' drawings, specifications, provide information for the development and review of fabrication drawings.
  • Ability and experience to interact and provide material requirements, technical information and specifications to other internal departments.
  • Knowledge of steel tubular pole structures shop operations.
