About the Role:

As a CBRE Data Center Technical Manager, you will be responsible for delivering technical services to global data center clients. This includes pricing, delivery, and scope of vendor maintenance contracts, as well as developing market-leading processes and critical operations documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the management of a team of Technical Leaders and Managers to create and maintain technical operational processes and procedures for each location.
  • Managing operations and maintenance for assigned facilities, including developing operating and capital budgets.
  • Driving the acquisition of new management contracts and facilitating the development of as-built drawings.
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with high-profile tenants, clients, owners, facility management teams, and vendors.
  • Recommending and implementing improvements for preventive maintenance programs on an ongoing basis.
  • Creating and maintaining effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.
  • Providing technical support during incidents and for client projects.
  • Reviewing, commenting, and approving high-risk emergency operating procedures for clients worldwide.
  • Providing strategic and operational support on process/standards across the global portfolio.
  • Continually evaluating technical operational processes and procedures with the team, with a focus on continual improvement.
  • Supporting the management, production, and ongoing use of asset management plans for each client location.
  • Ensuring that client contracts provide healthy and safe working conditions and that both client and company health and safety policies and processes are effectively implemented across both CBRE and subcontractor activities.
  • Supporting the management of ensuring all sites conform to necessary legislations and statutory compliances.
  • Presenting critical facility program and audit results and performance to CBRE and client senior management.
  • Performing customer interface activities, including scheduling, reporting of findings and results.
  • Auditing processes and procedures, including performing audits on the PPM system, PPM reporting, statutory files, etc.
  • Carrying out compliance audits and identifying any gaps and risks associated and ensuring a plan is in place to close these issues.
  • Overseeing the development of operation procedural documents from commissioning documentation and site drawings.
  • Supporting critical facilities commissioning standards within the accounts.

  • Providing support in the sales and pricing process, implementation, and delivery for all 3rd party critical facility vendor contracts.
  • Ensuring that all 3rd party scope, works, and performance are in line with client contract requirements, audits, and evaluations, and are completed and recorded.
  • Targeting cost-saving initiatives while maintaining a high level of contract support.
  • Assisting sales and marketing in the development and preparation of expansion and renewal proposals.
  • Coordinating the performance of raised floor performance evaluations, including technical environmental audits, analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Providing support and training for onsite engineering managers/supervisors.
  • Delivering manager employee training programs relating to new and existing processes to improve awareness.
  • Working with Technical Leads to develop, track, and maintain procedures and policies.
  • Managing technical library content and structure globally.
  • Executing operational and performance risk assessments.
What You'll Need:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, with 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • 10 years of experience in Data Centers or Critical Facilities is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Knowledge of redundancy levels and relation to operational risk.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical distribution system support and equipment function.
  • Knowledge of procedures and customer requirements in critical facilities.
  • Understanding of the relationship of technical strategies within a critical facility environment.
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
