Position Summary

The Food Service Assistant is tasked with various responsibilities, including monitoring and documenting food temperatures, maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food supplies, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and processing payments for food and beverages using a computerized register, among other related duties.

Adheres to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food service. Provides exceptional customer service and communicates effectively with patrons and colleagues. Demonstrates the ability to establish productive working relationships.

Maintains quality control standards.

May operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, computerized cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, and freezers.

Ideally, possesses experience in the food service industry.

Exhibits the ability to work independently when necessary. Understands food safety and sanitation protocols. Demonstrates the capacity to be on their feet for extended periods and walk significant distances.

Qualifications
Minimum age of 16 years. Previous experience in customer service, retail cash handling, and knowledge of food service is preferred. Must be able to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions. Basic math skills are required. On-the-job training will be provided.

Depending on the hiring location, Serv Safe certification may be required within a specified timeframe. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may also be necessary based on location requirements.
