About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Associate Lead to join our team at Dollar General. As a Sales Associate Lead, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, leading a team of sales associates, and ensuring the store operates efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of sales associates to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized store environment, including receiving and stocking merchandise
  • Operate cash registers, process transactions, and maintain accurate cash handling procedures
  • Assist in maintaining store inventory, including ordering and receiving merchandise
  • Provide support to the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; six months of supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures, including cashier accountability and deposit control
  • Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
Working Conditions
  • Frequent walking and standing
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run check out station, stock merchandise, and unload trucks
  • Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment, including handheld scanners, pricing guns, and box cutters
  • Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds
  • Occasional climbing using step ladder up to heights of six feet
  • Fast-paced environment; moderate noise level
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
  • Occasional or regular driving/providing own transportation to make bank deposits, attend management meetings, and travel to other Dollar General stores
