Position Overview:
The selected candidate will join a dedicated team responsible for the implementation of PCIe retimers for Broadcom's clientele.
The Product Applications Engineer will offer technical guidance to Broadcom's customers, addressing complex challenges associated with the integration of advanced PCIe technologies.
This role demands a comprehensive understanding of PCIe design elements, encompassing SerDes electrical compliance and protocol operations. The position involves direct engagement with Broadcom's prominent customers, both on-site and remotely.Proficiency in various PCIe standards is essential, including electrical, physical layer, data link layer, and transaction layer at PCIe Gen5 or higher.
Familiarity with critical components within SerDes (CTLE, DFE, FFE, CDR, PLL, TX) and physical layer (PIPE, LTSSM) is required.
Outstanding debugging capabilities and the ability to devise and articulate a systematic approach to problem-solving are crucial.
Fluency in Python is necessary, along with a working knowledge of C programming.
Experience in PCB schematic and layout design is expected.
Extensive laboratory experience with high-performance testing equipment, such as BERTs, high-speed oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers/exercisers, is required.
Understanding of Data Center architecture, including switches, routers, and interconnects, is advantageous.
Qualifications:
A robust academic and technical foundation in Electrical or Computer Engineering, with a Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10+ years of related experience.
Additional Information:Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this role is $141,000 - $225,000.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
