Job Summary
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases using radionuclides. Under the direction of the Manager/In-Charge Technologist and Medical Director, you will perform a variety of technical procedures that require a high degree of independent judgment and initiative. You will work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care and service. - Provide exceptional patient care and service, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for patients undergoing nuclear medicine procedures.
- Operate and maintain complex equipment, including gamma cameras and radiopharmaceutical dispensing systems, to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, following strict protocols and guidelines to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring accurate and timely communication of patient information.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient procedures, including radiopharmaceutical administration and imaging results.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in nuclear medicine technology and techniques, attending training sessions and conferences as needed.
- Supervise and mentor students and new staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure their success in the role.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- 1-year experience in nuclear medicine, with a strong background in physics and chemistry.
- ARRT(N) or NMTCB registry with five years' experience in nuclear medicine.
- CPR certification and SCSQRSA license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Philips equipment and Spect/CT technology.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in database management.
- Mathematical skills and ability to perform calculations accurately.
