Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Accountant will be instrumental in applying accounting standards and practices to compile and interpret financial data, ensuring timely and precise reporting to both Corporate and Internal Local Management. This role requires adherence to stringent accounting control measures and collaboration across departments to establish and execute methodologies that ensure compliance while maintaining the integrity of financial statements and related documentation.

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct thorough compilation, analysis, and reporting of financial information.
  • Oversee the review and reconciliation of North American financial data for local statutory management reporting and necessary submissions to Global Headquarters.
  • Collaborate with teams managing operational accounting transactions related to monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Assist in developing the quarterly and annual closing calendar, managing tasks to meet established deadlines.
  • Foster relationships with external audit teams and support various audit-related activities.
  • Prepare complex account reconciliations and conduct monthly reviews of balance sheet reconciliations prepared by global service teams.
  • Document various systems and process enhancements.
  • Manage and review month-end inventory valuations within the system.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) designation is required, along with 2-4 years of relevant general ledger accounting experience and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Experience in financial reporting is essential; cost accounting experience in a manufacturing context is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and develop innovative solutions to accounting challenges.
  • Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and other accounting and reporting standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and staff.
  • Proven ability to implement and uphold financial controls and accounting policies.
  • Public accounting experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
