Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager in the day-to-day activities of the project. This includes managing project budget and project forecast, managing multiple projects and vendors, developing and executing project execution plans, developing project closeout packages, overseeing contractors on project sites, scheduling projects using MSP or P6, creating project solutions with responsible engineers, providing meeting minutes for internal and external teams, conducting constructability reviews, reading and understanding all engineered drawings for construction projects, and completing miscellaneous Procurement activities as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage project budget and project forecast.
  • Manage multiple projects and vendors.
  • Develop and execute project execution plans.
  • Develop project closeout packages.
  • Oversee contractors on project sites.
  • Schedule projects using MSP or P6.
  • Create project solutions with responsible engineers.
  • Provide meeting minutes for internal and external teams.
  • Conduct constructability reviews.
  • Read and understand all engineered drawings for construction projects.
  • Complete miscellaneous Procurement activities as needed.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Ability: Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or government documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the public.
  • Mathematical Ability: Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Make change in the field as unrelated to the job. Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
