Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly skilled Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer to join our Strategic Space Missions team. As a key member of our team, you'll develop DSP algorithms that support new and existing space programs, leveraging innovative technology and products to outpace our competition.
Key Responsibilities- Propose concepts to solve customer problems and architect systems with our customers, bringing technology assets across Viasat and our partners to bear.
- Develop algorithms to solve a wide range of DSP challenges, building system solutions from simulations to instantiations on DSP/FPGA/GPU platforms.
- Work with interdisciplinary teams, including Digital, Business Development, Systems, Software, RF circuits, hardware engineers, and others.
- 5+ years of applied signal processing experience.
- Proven experience with architectural definition, design, and integration.
- Consistent track record developing, defining, and implementing signal processing solutions in communication and/or radar systems.
- Proven background in random processes, communication theory, and spectral analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with customers.
- Ability to perform systems-level analysis.
- Validated ability to derive module/box requirements from system-level requirements.
- M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience writing discrete-time simulations in Matlab, C/C++, or Python.
- Experience creating discrete-time fixed-point models in Simulink (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of RF, modem, and/or networking fundamentals.
- AESA/phased array, Radar, SIGINT, or EW experience.
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
Viasat offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a salary range of $120,000 to $208,800 annually, as well as additional cash or stock incentives. We also provide a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits focused on your holistic health and wellness.
