This is a Full-Time role within the Housekeeping and Laundry Department, which includes working every other weekend.

Position Overview:

If you take pride in creating a tidy and immaculate environment, the Sanitation Specialist position at The Arbor Inn in Warren, MI, could be an excellent match for your skills.

  • General Responsibilities:

Conducts cleaning and maintenance tasks within defined guidelines and designated areas.

  • Key Duties:

Receives tasks from the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Adheres to established cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly) as specified for the housekeeping division.

Cleans designated areas, furnishings, and fixtures in accordance with established cleaning protocols.

Handles floor cleaning, including dry mopping, wet mopping, sweeping, and disinfecting as needed.

Responds to emergency cleaning situations when incidents occur.

Maintains cleanliness of movable and stationary furnishings and fixtures: dusts, spot cleans, washes, disinfects, and polishes as required.

Empties and cleans ashtrays.

Clears, cleans, and relines waste receptacles with appropriate liners.

Inspects furnishings and fixtures for wear and reports findings to the supervisor.

Maintains cleanliness in bathrooms (resident, private, public).

Washes windows and mirrors, and cleans walls and doors as scheduled.

Restocks bathroom supplies as necessary.

Performs thorough cleaning duties in resident rooms following a discharge or transfer, preparing the space for new occupants.

Handles curtains or drapes, ensuring they are cleaned and rehung.

Transports soiled linens to the laundry facility.

Reports any structural or equipment issues to the supervisor.

Communicates supply and equipment needs to the supervisor for replenishment.

May assist with laundry tasks when required.

Completes other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Accountabilities:

Ensures cleanliness and sanitary conditions in assigned areas as directed, adhering to established standards.

Practices proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques.

Utilizes supplies economically and cares for equipment properly.

Maintains pace with work demands.

Collaborates with colleagues to enhance efficiency and morale within departments.

Attendance is essential.

Must present a clean, well-groomed appearance and wear the uniform at all times.

  • Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Physically fit and capable of performing the required duties.

Must undergo a yearly TB test or chest x-ray.

Familiarity with basic housekeeping tasks is essential.
