Key Responsibilities- Conducts comprehensive orientation programs for newly hired staff, collaborating with various department managers to ensure a thorough introduction to facility protocols.
- Oversees the completion of competency assessments for all new nursing staff within the designated timeframe.
- Acts as the System Administrator for educational management platforms, ensuring staff access to necessary training resources.
- Schedules and facilitates mandatory in-service training sessions in accordance with state and federal guidelines, addressing areas identified for improvement through quality improvement initiatives.
- Provides ongoing training on Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to all personnel.
- Maintains accurate employee health records, including tracking of required tests and monitoring for infection control compliance.
- Conducts drug screening for new hires and performs random testing as required.
- Organizes and maintains training documentation in an efficient manner.
- Serves as the facility's Infection Control Practitioner, ensuring adherence to the infection control program.
- Documents Potential Compensatory Events (PCEs) in the Risk Management System and reviews incidents as necessary.
- Participates in audits and quality improvement projects as a member of the facility's Quality Improvement Committee.
- Assists in the preparation of quality improvement materials and data collection to support ongoing initiatives.
- Engages in weekly meetings with nursing management and administration to discuss observations, trends, and educational priorities.
- Completes all monthly infection control assignments and leads monthly meetings.
- Submits monthly reports on infection control activities.
- Oversees the antibiotic stewardship program to promote responsible use of antibiotics.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the relevant state.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- A minimum of three to five years of progressive management or educational experience in a long-term care, sub-acute, or post-acute care environment is preferred.
