Job Title: Field Service Power Generation Technician

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Power Generation Technician to join our team at Cummins. As a key member of our Distribution Business in Bossier, LA, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our power generation equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repair activities on generators and components
  • Engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Utilize diagnostic tools for maintenance and repairs
  • Maintain detailed records of service
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Participate in ongoing development and certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain personal tools
Intermediate Responsibilities:
  • Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components
  • Startup and repair of bypass transfer switch
  • Mentor junior technicians, providing technical support and documentation
Advanced Responsibilities:
  • Setup, troubleshoot, and repair basic paralleling generator systems
  • Understand switchgear schematics
  • Train Entry/Intermediate Technicians
Qualifications:
  • A current valid license is required for this role
  • Apprentice Certified Power Generation/Electrical Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Current relevant electrical certification
  • Locally valid driving permit
Experience:
  • Basic level field service work experience
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
  • High Voltage/Low Voltage experience
  • Customer service experience
Compensation and Benefits:

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
