The Director of Operations is a vital contributor to the success of I Dream Public Charter School, ensuring that the institution functions as a high-achieving educational organization. Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee and enhance the efficiency of all internal systems and processes, ensuring the smooth daily operations of the school.
  • Manage operations, data, performance, accountability, and communications.
  • Streamline and automate internal processes to boost efficiency.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, developing contingency plans to ensure business continuity and a secure learning environment.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Engage in the annual budget and audit processes alongside the Executive Director and Finance Committee.
  • Regularly review and update the strategic plan and annual budget with the leadership team.
  • Lead the annual revision of handbooks with input from stakeholders.
  • Oversee recruitment efforts to achieve full enrollment.
  • Collaborate with external financial services to manage financial reporting and compliance.
  • Manage federal and state grant activities, ensuring compliance with financial and narrative reporting requirements.
  • Implement and maintain systems, policies, and procedures, while monitoring vendor contracts in key operational areas.
  • Oversee technology procurement and training.
  • Manage facility maintenance schedules as required.
  • Stay informed about local policies and initiatives affecting school operations.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Principal to provide strategic vision for continuous improvement systems.
  • Work with the leadership team to prioritize strategies outlined in the strategic plan.
  • Lead high-impact projects that align with the strategic goals of I Dream PCS.
  • Coordinate emergency drills with school leadership.
  • Design and evaluate continuous improvement systems.
  • Support grant development and management efforts.

Talent Management:

  • Lead recruitment, development, and retention efforts for the Operations Team, fostering a skilled and motivated workforce aligned with the organization's mission.
  • Coach and support team members in achieving their goals.
  • Participate in the hiring process to ensure alignment with the school's vision.
  • Provide training to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Manage fundraising activities, including grant applications and donor relations.

Data-Driven Decision-Making:

  • Utilize data and analytics to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage performance monitoring systems to ensure accountability.
  • Oversee annual data reporting and compliance submissions.
  • Act as a steward of data-informed decision-making.
  • Assist in technology setup for assessments.

Qualifications

  • Strong alignment with the I Dream PCS mission and commitment to diversity and equity.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in operations and leadership.
  • 2+ years in a school-based environment.
  • Experience managing teams and driving outcomes.
  • Proven ability to enhance organizational effectiveness.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

I Dream PCS offers a competitive salary based on experience, ranging from $105,000 to $115,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package to support overall wellness.
