Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join our team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing advanced radio-astronomy and radar data acquisition and signal-processing systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital signal processing, FPGA design, and VHDL/Verilog programming. Experience with Xilinx design tools, Vivado, Vitis, and HLS is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will work closely with scientists to translate high-level requirements into working hardware and firmware designs. Responsibilities will include FPGA design and development of digital receivers, filters, and spectrometers, as well as translating concepts into working hardware and using the resulting systems in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop advanced radio-astronomy and radar data acquisition and signal-processing systems
  • Translate high-level requirements into working hardware and firmware designs
  • Develop FPGA designs for digital receivers, filters, and spectrometers
  • Work closely with scientists to ensure successful system implementation
Requirements
  • M.S. in electrical engineering or related field
  • Two years' hands-on experience in system and FPGA signal-processing design using VHDL, Verilog, and Xilinx design tools
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing techniques and algorithms
  • Comprehensive knowledge of digital design, including signal-processing architectures
