Physician Assistant

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Sports/Joints Team in Waco/Hillcrest, Texas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to quality patient care and effective collaboration with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals.
The Physician Assistant will provide medical care to adult and pediatric patients, specializing in General Surgery, Orthopedics, and other surgical specialties. Key responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing treatments, and developing comprehensive patient treatment plans.
Essential Functions
Assess patient physical and mental conditions through comprehensive examinations and medical histories
Order, collect, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and healthcare needs
Prescribe and recommend medical treatments, therapies, and procedures in accordance with approved policies and standards of care
Develop and implement comprehensive patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, and professional practice guidelines
Evaluate patient responses to healthcare provided and the effectiveness of care
Key Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Less than 1 year of experience in a related field
Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer
