Job Title: Director of Nursing

WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a skilled Director of Nursing to lead our team in Queens, New York.

Job Description & Requirements

The Director of Nursing will be responsible for ensuring quality healthcare is administered to all Residential Program participants. This role will involve supervising Residential RNs, providing orientation and training, and collaborating with hospital personnel.


Job Function:
  • Day Shift
  • Monday through Friday (8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm)
  • Directly supervises Residential RNs in the assigned cluster
  • Functions as a coach, collaborator, facilitator and support system for Residential Nurses
  • Provide orientation training of newly hired nurses, as assigned.
  • Functions as a hospital discharge planner for hospitalized individuals in the assigned cluster. Initiates Surgical Review Committee (if indicated), conduct ongoing collaboration with hospital personnel, visits hospitalized individual regularly, and assist RNs with discharge training of all staff.
  • Participates and follows through on recommendations from committees as assigned (i.e., Training Committee, IRC, BRC and Directors Committee)
  • Assumes basic responsibilities during RN vacancy to include report writing, incident reporting, and attendance at review meetings.
  • Responds to emergency situations via 24 hours, Monday – Friday on-call status.

Job Requirements:


• Minimum of five years of nursing experience with three of those years in the ID/DD field, required.

• Previous training and Quality Assurance experience preferred.

• Knowledge of OPWDD regulations.

• Valid driver's license

• Experience working with people with Autism is preferred
