Maintenance Director

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our maintenance, utilities, and inventory management functions at our New Berlin, NY site. As the Director of Maintenance, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing facility, with a focus on reducing downtime and maintaining peak plant performance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership to our technical services organization, driving innovation and excellence in maintenance, automation, and utilities functions.
- Develop and implement cost-effective capital project budgets, ensuring timely completion and effective collaboration with vendors.
- Support key performance initiatives, fostering strong relationships with R&D, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Product Supply teams.
- Drive efficiency in manufacturing processes, prioritizing product quality and timely delivery.
- Craft a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting a culture of safety excellence.
- Accelerate Lean manufacturing practices, optimizing organizational structure to meet objectives.
- Establish and maintain quality measures, preventive maintenance schedules, and performance standards.
- Lead employee safety, environmental compliance, and product quality initiatives, meeting schedule commitments and cost objectives.
- Represent Chobani in partnership with state and local officials, as well as dairy community leaders.
- Adhere to Chobani's safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Proven experience in dairy or food industry manufacturing, with deep process knowledge.
- Minimum 3 years senior management level experience, owning the technical services organization.
- 10+ years proven experience in plant manufacturing and maintenance.
- BS/BA or equivalent experience in Industrial Engineering, Dairy Management, Food Science, Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Solid understanding of MRP and ERP Systems.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and related compliance regulations.
- Complete understanding of PLC and logic controls for high-speed operating equipment.
- Analytical problem solver with the ability to drill to root cause and arrive at rational solutions.
- Applied knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma preferred.
- Skills in planning, developing, and maintaining manufacturing operations budgets.
- Proven record of driving demonstrable, measurable positive change and meeting meaningful objectives.
