Swim Coach

Job Summary:

Reading School District is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying swimming abilities. You will also assist more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities, assess the progress of students, and adjust teaching programs accordingly. Additionally, you will monitor students to prevent accidents and injuries, implement ground rules for each swim session, and identify incorrect swimming techniques and correct students accordingly. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong commitment to creating a safe and positive atmosphere for all students.

Responsibilities:

• Teach swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying swimming abilities
• Assist more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities
• Assess the progress of students and adjust teaching programs accordingly
• Monitor students to prevent accidents and injuries
• Implement ground rules for each swim session
• Identify incorrect swimming techniques and correct students accordingly
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including communication skills with students, parents, and facility staff

Requirements:

• Must be a minimum age of 14 years old
• Proven experience working as a swim instructor or active member of a swimming team
• Sound knowledge of proper swimming techniques and water safety rules
• Effective communication skills
• Excellent conflict resolution skills
• Passionate and enthusiastic

Working Conditions:

The Swim Instructor must be able to swim and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
