Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant at AFC Urgent Care, you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care in an outpatient clinic setting. You will work closely with our licensed providers to provide general medical care, obtain patient vitals, and prepare patients for physical exams.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient medical history, reason for visit, and prepare patients for physical exams
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of ordered tests
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved procedures
  • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
  • Respond to lab messages and call back requests
  • Perform drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Document patient immunizations and administer them according to approved procedures
  • Conduct physician referrals and service pre-certifications as needed
  • Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation

Qualifications

We are seeking an Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registration and AAMA certification are preferred.
