Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Bioburden Reduction Specialist to join our team at United Therapeutics. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for reducing bioburden in 3D-printed scaffolds through the development and implementation of effective sterilization processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sterilization processes for 3D-printed scaffolds
- Conduct routine QC testing, including bioburden, endotoxin, B&F testing, growth promotion, Gram stain, microbial ID analysis, and raw materials testing
- Develop different assays to map perfusion in 3D-printed scaffolds
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 6+ years of experience in a product or process development role, preferably with a maximally invasive medical device product company
- A Master's Degree in chemical engineering, microbiology, or related field
- Strong understanding and experience in handling and sterilization of medical devices
- Deep understanding in a variety of sterilization techniques - chemical and radiation methods
- Experience in B&F testing, growth promotion, Gram stain, microbial ID analysis, endotoxin testing, bioburden testing, and raw materials testing
Estimated Salary
$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
