Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Services Ministry Staff to join our team at Star of Hope. As a key member of our ministry, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical safety, security, and welfare of all facility residents. Your role will involve monitoring residents' compliance with rules, policies, and procedures, as well as overseeing the cleanliness and smooth operations of the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure the physical safety, security, and welfare of all residents, monitoring their compliance with rules, policies, and procedures.
  2. Oversee the cleanliness and smooth operations of the facility, including monitoring Chore/Work Therapy assignments.
  3. Manage the facility's response to emergencies, providing crisis intervention and support to residents using Biblical principles.
  4. Assist residents with daily needs, such as mail, toiletries, and over-the-counter medications.
  5. Promote good relations between residents and staff by maintaining an atmosphere of cooperation, service to others, and a balance of 'grace and truth' consistent with the Star of Hope mission statement.
  6. Assist the Resident Services Senior Lead Coordinator in completing and maintaining all necessary rosters, logs, folders, and reports.
  7. Communicate, support, and work with other departments to ensure the integrity of care for all residents.
  8. Provide advice, admonition, and encouragement from a Biblical perspective when interacting with residents.
  9. Complete necessary follow-ups involved in documenting each crisis (Significant Events Reports).
Other Job Responsibilities
  1. Participate in Ministry and prayer activities, as appropriate.
  2. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with a High School Diploma or GED, and preferably 2 years of college or an Associate's Degree in Social Services or a related field. Knowledge of and experience with substance abuse issues, mental health conditions, and homelessness are preferred. The ideal candidate will have a valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record and current liability insurance.

We are looking for someone who can work respectfully, professionally, and in a Christ-like manner with everyone, maintaining required residents/staff boundaries and possessing a willingness to serve the Lord in a ministry that deals with homeless men, women, and children.

The successful candidate will have good reading, writing, time management, and multitasking skills, as well as the ability to clearly communicate information about residents' policies and procedures. They will also have good judgment in dealing with residents and confidential matters, and the ability to problem-solve and work well without supervision.
