Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned actuary to lead the annual ORSA process, collaborate with partners across the enterprise, and provide actuarial analysis and leadership on various risk topics. You will be responsible for monitoring ERM best practices, leveraging external sources to assess emerging trends, tools, and strategies, and recommending enhancements to Securian's ERM framework.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the Annual ORSA Process: Collaborate with associates across the organization to develop an accurate and decision-useful report, ensuring alignment with external regulatory requirements and internal risk management needs.
  • Monitor ERM Best Practices: Leverage external sources to assess emerging trends, tools, and strategies, and recommend enhancements to Securian's ERM framework.
  • Provide Actuarial Analysis: Support Securian's insurance risk management, including mortality, longevity, morbidity, and policyholder behavior.
  • Develop and Maintain Risk Management Frameworks: Lead and/or support the development and maintenance of risk management frameworks for Securian's insurance risks, including scenario testing, stress testing, risk appetite, and risk tolerances.
Requirements
  • ASA or near-FSA Actuarial Designation: Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrate a high degree of initiative, ability to identify ideas, define, and complete projects that meet the objectives of the department, division, and enterprise.
  • Decision-Making Skills: Ability to act independently, handle confidential information appropriately, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Estimated Salary Range:

$84,000 - $155,000 per year, depending on individual experience, skills, knowledge, and job-related factors.
