We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Library Specialist to join our team at Emory University. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex bibliographic management operations, creating and updating cataloging records, and verifying subject headings and classifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex bibliographic management operations, including searching, checking series and name authority files, and creating, reviewing, or updating cataloging records.
  • Create permanent machine-readable bibliographic and authority records, and perform online bibliographic updates.
  • Establish headings to contribute to the Library of Congress Name Authority database.
  • Verify or assign subject headings and classifications, including Library of Congress, National Library, or Dewey Decimal.
  • Supervise or direct the work of staff or students, as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • One or more of the following: computer skills, special skills, or proficiency in a foreign language.
