Position Overview:
As a Phone Triage Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing empathetic and expert medical guidance to pediatric patients and their families over the phone. Your contributions are vital in ensuring the highest standards of patient care, characterized by professionalism and compassion in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Respond to Communications: Efficiently manage incoming calls, portal messages, and provider communications.
  2. Conduct Patient Assessments: Apply established protocols to evaluate patient symptoms and determine appropriate care levels, including emergent, urgent, non-urgent, or home care.
  3. Provide Medical Advice: Deliver patient-centered medical advice, instructions, and recommendations.
  4. Refer Patients: Guide patients to appropriate medical facilities or providers based on established guidelines.
  5. Document Interactions: Accurately log all patient interactions in the EMR system, including assessments and recommendations.
  6. Prioritize Patient Care: Review patient statuses prior to provider consultations, ensuring optimal care.
  7. Assess Refill Requests: Verify the necessity of medication refill requests before forwarding them to the provider.
  8. Coordinate Medication Refills: Contact patients to evaluate their condition and suggest appointments if necessary.
  9. Manage Recalls: Oversee recall tasks to ensure follow-up care is provided.
  10. Provide Backup Coverage: Support other departments as needed.

Qualifications:
A minimum of 1+ years of experience in a similar pediatric role is required.
