Job Summary

Under the supervision of a Nurse Manager and guided by the policies and procedures of Ambulatory Services, the Licensed Vocational Nurse works in collaboration with the clinical team in delivering high-quality care to patients in the 360 Positive Care/Women's Specialty Clinic. This innovative model of trauma-informed healthcare provides culturally sensitive and effective integrated medical and behavioral health care to patients, as well as nurturing support to staff and providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to patients in the ambulatory setting, individualized to meet their physiological and psychosocial developmental level and needs.
  • Work collaboratively with RNs as a nursing resource for staff and provide nursing supervision within the scope of practice in the absence of the RN.
  • Support the clinical team, which consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, medical assistants, pharmacists, dieticians, outreach coordinators, and program coordinators.
Requirements
  • Graduated from an accredited vocational nursing program with a certificate and ability to perform phlebotomy.
  • At least six to twelve months of experience in an ambulatory setting.
  • Familiarity with the process of prior authorizations to obtain specialty biologic medications.
  • Ability to prioritize work efficiently and independently, demonstrating strong self-initiative.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to work with patients and all levels of personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least three to six months of experience working with HIV-positive patients, preferably in a medical specialty setting.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
License/Certification
  • Active Licensed Vocational Nurse licensure in the State of California.
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification.
