At Lutheran Services in Iowa, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Recruitment & Retention Specialist to join our dynamic and experienced Foster Care and Adoption team. This part-time occasional (20 hours per week) role is primarily remote, serving clients in the Mason City and Fort Dodge areas, with occasional travel required for staff meetings and other events.

About the Role
The Recruitment & Retention Specialist is responsible for recruiting quality foster and adoptive families in western Iowa, with a focus on recruiting families that reflect the race, ethnicity, and culture of the children coming into care. This role will also play a key role in retaining families and leading a mentor program for foster parents. The person in this role will work closely with LSI's Marketing and Communications team to leverage expertise with the Recruitment & Retention Specialist's on-the-ground efforts.

Responsibilities
* Recruit quality foster and adoptive families in western Iowa
* Retain families and lead a mentor program for foster parents
* Work closely with LSI's Marketing and Communications team to leverage expertise
* Engage current foster or adoptive families to assist with family-to-family recruitment and raising awareness about the need for more foster and adoptive families in Iowa

Requirements
* High school diploma and a minimum of two years experience in child welfare services
* Preferred applicants will have a Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, human resource management or a related field
* Experience with customer service and recruitment is highly desired
* Ability to communicate effectively and possess the skills, energy, and desire to reach out and collaborate with numerous entities like media, faith communities, and families
