POSITION OVERVIEW

Accountable for overseeing all facets of site operations, including safety protocols, workforce management, and customer service initiatives, in collaboration with the Sales and Supply Chain divisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Directing the local team to ensure compliance with safety standards and performance metrics, while managing sales of packaged gases, welding supplies, and related products.
  • Providing guidance to achieve exceptional safety outcomes and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Driving sales efforts, both retail and internal, to foster profitable growth within the area.
  • Enhancing the profitability of the area by effectively managing expenses, local stock levels, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives aimed at cost reduction.
  • Formulating local sales strategies that align with broader Regional, Zone, and Division objectives, including various product lines.
  • Assisting sales representatives in customer engagements, new business development, contract discussions, and fulfilling customer service needs.
  • Facilitating communication between site operations and Area, Region, and Zone management.
  • Timely reporting of site activities to management.
  • Ensuring accurate reconciliation of cash, gas, and inventory levels, as well as customer-owned assets.
  • Contributing to collections efforts and planning for employee development and succession.
  • Participating in periodic inventory assessments.
  • Executing additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This role typically requires availability during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, with potential weekend hours as necessary. This is a full-time position that may involve travel.


SUPERVISORY DUTIES

Directly oversees site personnel within the retail branch, executing supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities encompass:

  • Recruiting, hiring, and training staff.
  • Assigning and managing work tasks.
  • Evaluating employee performance and providing feedback.
  • Addressing employee concerns and resolving issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and reports.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Basic mathematical skills for practical applications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, which may include:

  • Regularly communicating with employees and stakeholders.
  • Frequent computer usage.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and operational environments, including warehouses and customer sites. Noise levels are typically moderate.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required, along with five to ten years of relevant experience in site operations or industrial gas sectors, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


CERTIFICATIONS

Valid Driver's License and Hazardous Materials training are necessary.


ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a solid understanding of industrial gas products and safety regulations are preferred.
