The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is seeking a Human Resources IV (Hiring Specialist – Recovery) to enhance recruitment and staffing initiatives across the state. This role involves close collaboration with the leadership team to address critical hiring requirements.
The position may require travel for various activities, including New Employee Orientation, Job Fairs, and other recruitment events.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the selected candidate will play a vital role in the planning, development, and execution of recruitment strategies aimed at attracting high-caliber personnel capable of delivering effective protective and regulatory services to families in need. This role implements recruitment strategies that align with the agency's goals for caseworker positions.Building and maintaining productive relationships with program staff, Health and Human Services personnel, CAPPS Service Center staff, Professional Development Division staff, educational institutions, and workforce professionals is essential.
The position may also involve leading or supervising the work of others.Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue recruitment opportunities by exploring new talent sources and fostering positive relationships with industry professionals, including participation in job fairs and community events.
- Oversee job postings, conduct initial interview screenings, refer candidates for further assessments, schedule interviews, coordinate hiring panels with supervisors, perform reference checks, and collaborate with programs to recommend hires.
- Engage with other entities on hiring-related program issues and represent the program area in agency planning sessions, committees, and meetings focused on recruitment. - Collaborate with agency supervisors to attend recruitment events and promote the agency as a preferred employer. Act as a liaison between applicants and hiring supervisors to facilitate efficient vacancy filling.- Ensure positions are filled within the expected timeframes and in alignment with hiring needs.
- Interpret hiring policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, providing technical assistance to agency staff and others as necessary.
- Prepare reports for regional staff regarding hiring status and develop training for regional supervisory staff as required.- Perform additional duties as assigned to support unit operations.
