Position Overview

Title: Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer (Container Security Enhancements)
Location: Remote/Hybrid
Clearance: Top Secret (SCI eligible)

Role Summary:

  • Rackner is in search of a Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer (Container Security Enhancements) who will collaborate with the Pipeline Architect and Software Engineering Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure that applications are developed using fortified base containers through Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Proposes and, in partnership with the Pipeline Engineers, executes container security enhancement pipelines that yield fortified base containers, as well as secure existing application containers deployed in a large-scale enterprise setting.
  • The lead will craft and optimize Dockerfiles, be open to acquiring foundational knowledge of various programming languages (Go, Python, Java, C++, .NET, Rust), and possess a solid understanding of Linux and its associated packaging systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 5+ years of experience contributing to a technical team for a software or IT project. Alternatively, a Bachelor's in Information Technology, IT Management, or Computer Information Systems with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must obtain DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification within 30 days of contract award.
  • Possession of Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Kubernetes/Cloud Native Security Associate certification prior to commencement.
  • Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist within 90 days of employment.
  • 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Open Container Initiative, and Cloud Native Computing Foundation projects.
  • Proficiency in at least two of the following: Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby, or Go.
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery and Deployment Automation.
  • Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
  • Knowledge of Microservice Architectures.
  • Experience in Cloud Computing.
  • Understanding of the NIST Risk Management Framework.
  • General knowledge of utilizing the following technologies to further develop containerized applications and delivery to a containerized platform: DoD DevSecOps Reference Architecture, RKE2, Git/GitLab/GitOps, Kustomize, ArgoCD, Flux, Ansible, Helm, Terraform, Big Bang, Version Control, SOPS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 7+ years of experience contributing to a technical team. OR
  • Master's in IT, IT Management, or Computer Information Systems with 10+ years of experience in a technical team environment.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IASAE Level II certification at contract award and Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist at start.
