Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver an exceptional service experience by ensuring prompt resolution to customer inquiries and overall satisfaction.
  • Adhere to company service protocols, including welcoming customers and making them feel at home at First Mid Bank & Trust.
  • Efficiently assist customers by processing transactions accurately and in accordance with policy guidelines, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, and issuing cashier's checks.
  • Seek managerial support for any questionable transactions.
  • Secure management authorization for transactions exceeding authorized limits.
  • Comply with all banking regulations, security measures, and operational policies.
  • Manage a cash drawer by executing daily balancing tasks and supporting daily branch operations.
  • Facilitate account openings, including checking, savings, safe deposit boxes, and basic business accounts.
  • Implement changes to existing accounts as per customer requests.
  • Actively seek opportunities to enhance processes that will elevate the customer experience and communicate those suggestions to branch leadership.
  • Where applicable, grant access to safe deposit box holders.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance in line with the guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Ensure customer confidentiality is upheld.
  • Participate in bank promotions, community events, and marketing initiatives as needed.
  • May be required to assist in other First Mid Banking locations.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Sales Responsibilities:
  • Build and nurture relationships with business partners.
  • Establish and maintain strong connections with customers.
  • Educate and motivate customers to utilize alternative banking methods such as ATMs, Debit Cards, Online, and Mobile Banking.
  • Stay informed about all banking products through training sessions, branch meetings, and corporate communications.
  • Identify opportunities for growth to cross-sell products and refer customers to appropriate business lines.
  • Consistently achieve or surpass established performance goals for the role.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service and cash handling experience, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Prior sales experience is advantageous.
  • Successful completion of required compliance and First Mid training programs to gain proficiency in the basic account opening process. Advancement in this role will be determined by management discretion.
Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
