About the Role

Hills & Dales Child Development Center is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in their daily lives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care, including bathing, toileting, and hygiene support, with a focus on lifting safely with the support of lifts.
  • Support exercise and mobility, ensuring clients have the opportunity to engage in physical activities that promote their overall well-being.
  • Document client progress toward personal goals, providing valuable insights into their development and growth.
  • Communicate and coordinate with teams to ensure effective support for clients, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Monitor health and wellness, identifying potential issues and taking proactive steps to address them.
  • Accompany clients to outings and events, promoting socialization and community engagement.
  • Support work-skills development, helping clients to acquire new skills and build their confidence.
  • Monitor environments for potential hazards and support clients in navigating these safely.
  • Assist clients in expressing their emotions appropriately and support challenging behavior when necessary, promoting emotional well-being and stability.
  • Follow detailed dietary instructions, ensuring clients receive the nutrition they need to thrive.
Requirements
  • Ability to be responsible and accountable for the health, safety, and quality of another person's life.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license to drive agency vehicles.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screen, and driving record check.
