At Hills & Dales Child Development Center, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional III to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with disabilities achieve their full potential.
Job Summary:The Direct Support Professional III will provide direct support and care to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life. This role requires a strong commitment to providing person-centered care, advocating for clients' rights, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure seamless support.
Key Responsibilities:- Teaching Daily Living Skills: Assist individuals in developing self-care and daily living skills, promoting independence and confidence.
- Behavior Management: Implement approved methods to reduce unwanted behaviors and teach alternative skills, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Health Support: Maintain hygiene and grooming standards, provide first aid, and administer medications (if certified) to ensure clients' physical and emotional well-being.
- Documentation: Accurately record support provided and compliance with health standards, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Engagement Activities: Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities and community outings, fostering social connections and a sense of belonging.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe environment through laundry, cooking, and cleaning, promoting a healthy and comfortable living space.
- Financial Records: Manage accurate financial records for clients, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Medication Assistance: Assist with medications as prescribed, following training and protocols.
- Meeting Participation: Attend and contribute to meetings, ensuring collaboration and effective communication.
- Professional Boundaries: Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and staff, upholding confidentiality and respect.
- Support Choice-Making: Encourage and assist clients in making informed choices and creating activity calendars, promoting autonomy and self-determination.
- Confidentiality: Protect client data and adhere to HIPAA standards, ensuring confidentiality and respect.
- Pet Support: Follow established goals related to pets or service animals, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
- Follow Policies: Adhere to all organizational policies and values, upholding a culture of excellence and respect.
- Demonstrated Concern for Others: Show a genuine concern for the well-being and dignity of individuals with disabilities.
- Effective Communication: Assertively communicate and advocate for clients' needs and rights.
- Reliable Attendance: Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality, ensuring seamless support and care.
- Physical Abilities: Possess the ability to lift 35 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
- Education: Hold a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and valid insurance.
- Criminal Background Check: Successfully complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and driving record check.

- Flexible Scheduling: Enjoy a 3-day work week with 12-13 hour shifts, providing 203 days off per year.
