Overview

The LiRo Group is seeking an experienced Associate Structural Engineer to join our team in Mineola, Long Island. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing various projects, providing technical mentorship to local staff, and supporting business development efforts.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:


  • Performing structural engineering analysis and design tasks for new and existing structures
  • Conducting site investigations to observe and document existing conditions and structural deficiencies
  • Performing condition assessments and load ratings of various structures
  • Supervising and assisting in the development of project plans, design calculations, and specifications
  • Providing responses and solutions to issues during the construction administration phase of projects
  • Mentoring and training junior engineering staff
  • Supporting the preparation of technical proposals in the pursuit of new work
  • Attending local industry and business development functions


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:


  • A Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering, with a Master's Degree a plus
  • At least 8 years of experience in structural engineering practice
  • New York Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, with SE licensure a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong mentorship skills
  • Ability to supervise, delegate tasks, and provide guidance to technical staff
  • Understanding and application of NYC and NYS code requirements
  • Experience in using various structural analysis software
  • Ability to multitask, work on multi-disciplinary teams, and consistently meet deadlines


We offer a comprehensive benefits package, a positive work environment, and a competitive total compensation package, including a salary range of $140,000 to $165,000, depending on qualifications and location.
