About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Roche Diagnostics Operations. As a key member of our Facilities/Utilities organization, you will play a critical role in maintaining the best performance of our electro-mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electromechanical equipment, HVAC, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
  • Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or drawings.
  • Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts & rebuild facilities/utilities equipment as required and perform equipment modifications including installation, validation support and start-up of new equipment, as well as decommissioning activities as directed by manufacturing engineers.
  • Apply advanced knowledge and skills to complete assignments requiring judgment and initiative, and make recommendations for solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities and complete preventative maintenance tasks according to detailed procedures and schedules.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • 2+ years related operations or manufacturing experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include an Associate's Degree or equivalent military training, or documented 3 years' experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems in an operations or manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in Google Office Suite: Docs, Sheets, Slides, Email, Calendar.
  • 5+ years' documented troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems in an operations or manufacturing setting.
  • Medical device manufacturing or operations experience; knowledge of screw and reciprocal compressors, electrical and controls troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Precision Maintenance practices; GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GDP (Good Documentation Practices).
  • Experience with HVAC systems, chilled water systems, boilers and hot water systems, and refrigeration systems.
  • Experience with Building Automation systems.
