Clinical Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Christus Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, including specimen processing and handling, testing of patient specimens, and reporting of results.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Perform quality control procedures and ensure adherence to laboratory's quality control program.
- Calculate, enter, and/or verify results of laboratory procedures.
- Utilize the Laboratory Information System and provide notification and documentation of critical laboratory values obtained.
- Process patient specimens, including collection, handling, and distribution.
- Participate in the evaluation, development, and implementation of new or updated testing procedures and protocols.
- Demonstrate competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities and adapt patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient.
- Adhere to the CORE values of CHRISTUS Health and complete all required compliance and regulatory tasks.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience.
- One year of experience required for graduates of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by NAACLS, or other organizations approved by HHS.
- Two years of approved clinical laboratory experience, which must include a clinical rotation through the following sections of the laboratory: Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids in the U.S.
- Board Certification or eligibility required for new graduates.
