Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team at Veolia North America. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of our water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of our water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Plan and coordinate activities to operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment equipment, instrumentation, and associated systems.
  • Monitor and document operating conditions, observations, and data in shift logs.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot operational problems, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Verify and report suspected malfunctions and variances, taking corrective action as directed.
  • Lead special projects to improve safety, operations, and employee development.
  • Train and develop employees to safely and properly use equipment and systems.
  • Engage with customers to provide work updates and notifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Five to seven years of experience in water and wastewater treatment, with knowledge of methods, principles, and practices of operating, maintaining, and repairing water treatment plant equipment, instrumentation, and associated systems.
  • Lead experience or supervisory training required, with understanding of human relations, training, performance evaluation, and health and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment process engineering, water quality assurance, maintenance strategy, and laboratory procedures.
  • Effective skills in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and team building.
  • Ingenuity and initiative to coordinate problem resolution and execute schedule requirements within a team environment.
  • General knowledge of budget preparation and understanding of cost control.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interface with and motivate all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to prepare accurate, timely, effective, complete, and easily understood written communications and reports.
  • Proficiency in the care and use of all site-specific, facility-required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • PC skills and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software for preparing work-related reports, charts, graphs, and data submittal requirements.
